HeiGIT (Heidelberg Institute for Geoinformation Technology) conducts research on and with geographic information and makes it freely available for the benefit of the environment and society—for example, for researchers, aid organizations, and associations.

We are looking for a student assistant (8-10 h/week) to support our TIGr-Team as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

  • Support for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning models
  • Building and automating data and model pipelines
  • Support for the preparation of training data
  • Maintaining the underlying ML and server infrastructure
  • Documenting MLOps-processes

Your profile:

  • Solid foundational knowledge of Python and Linux systems
  • Basic experience with version control (Git) and container technologies (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
  • Interest in cloud technologies and automation
