HeiGIT (Heidelberg Institute for Geoinformation Technology) conducts research on and with geographic information and makes it freely available for the benefit of the environment and society— for example, for researchers, aid organizations, and associations.

We are looking for a student assistant (8-10 h/week) to support our TIGr-Team as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

  • Geodata processing, analysis, and visualization
  • Assistance with data maintenance and data preparation
  • Creation of maps and reports for ongoing projects
  • Contribution to spatial analyses

Your profile:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in geography, geoinformatics, or a related field
  • Practical experience working with GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, Jupyter Notebooks)
  • Basic knowledge of databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS) is a plus
  • A meticulous, structured, and self-reliant work style
